Jared Ebanks This holiday season, adidas Originals is taking specific design cues from the wide-reaches of the entertainment and film industry. After centering its latest adidas Forum Lo around the Pigeon Lady from Home Alone 2 and a duo of Stan Smith’s inspired by Homer and Marge Simpson, the most recent adidas Campus 80s employs the titular composition of the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland.
Extending the feline’s colorful stripped fur, hairy suedes envelop the entirety of the perforated upper, trading off between magenta and muted purple stripes that renders a smooth leather texture at its tongue. Vivid violets lay claim to the laces and leather sock liner which proffers specific call outs to the mischievous cat while coming affixed with two separate hang tags that further harken the animal’s gleaming smile. An adjacently placed heel tab enjoys a disparate light pink outfit and embossed smile while the pair is concluded with a simplified clad cream sole unit underfoot.
