NIKE, Inc. hasn’t officially unveiled its Lunar New Year collection yet, but images of several propositions prepped for the “Year of the Rabbit” have surfaced over the last few months. The (potential) latest?: A Nike Air Force 1 Low featuring fuzzy profile swooshes and other accents.
Unlike previously-seen pairs of the Nike Dunk Low prepped for the event, the newly-surfaced take on Bruce Kilgore’s 40-year-old design abandons any direct nod to the Chinese zodiacal figure. Instead, the “presidential” silhouette opts to reference the protagonist rabbit through the furry materials found at the profiles and upper heel. Tan leather panels appear around the toe, along the tongues, and across the heel, adding another touch of luxury to the special edition Air Force 1, in particular when taking into account the barely-discernible pattern printed onto the overlays. Non-standard embroidery claims real estate throughout the remainder of the upper, while the sole unit underfoot opts for a simple, predominantly white finish rounded out by semi-translucent traction.
No firm nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official images of pair ahead.
