The streetwear pioneer, Stüssy, has been delivering compelling product since 1980, with the last 20 years including several fresh footwear collaborations with NIKE, Inc. As the label closes out yet another successful year, it’s delivering two styles of the Nike Air Penny 2 on December 16th.
Akin to a recent collaboration with Converse, the upcoming takes on Anfernee Deon “Penny” Hardaway’s second signature sneaker favors “Black/Green Flash” and “Black/White” color combinations, further expanding the model’s off-court appeal. Hemp construction seen on most of Stüssy’s swoosh-branded projects from the past two years is revisited on the mostly-tonal offering, while the more animated proposition favors a more traditional build with suede panels. Both styles of the Air Max-cushioned basketball sneaker keep co-branding to a minimum, although shoe boxes and packaging leave no doubt as to the nature of the release. Together, each aforementioned component helps create an arrangement perfect for the end-of-the-year, adding yet another tally to the longtime partnership between both Stüssy and Nike.
Stay tuned for more updates here, as you wait for an official launch via stussy.com on Friday, December 16th, for $170 USD each; the pairs hit Nike SNKRS on Tuesday, December 20th.
