Jovani Hernandez Year after year, Nike’s Ekiden Collection commemorates the days-long running tradition across Japan. Recently, the series unveiled its ZoomX AlphaFly NEXT% 2 for the next capsule.
ATOMKNIT uppers boast varying shades of a lime green hue, which fades across the robust ZoomX cushioning solution underfoot. Detailing across the top-half also indulges in back and red contrast, with the latter tone animating the sock-like collar. Direct nods to the 507 kilometer (or 315 mile) 23-stage relay race appear on the midsole’s medial side. Lastly, exposed Zoom Air units appear underneath the forefoot, promising a responsive, energy-returning ride for all those participating in the Ekiden Season’s events.
