Jared Ebanks Most recently undergoing the knife of Salehe Bembury, the New Balance 990v2 continues to maintain its relevancy thanks to a handful of collaborators alongside Teddy Santis’ continued inclusion of the silhouette within the brand’s Made In USA collection. Currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, varying shades of brown outfit the latest installation in the Aimé Leon Dore owner’s inline collection with the Boston-based brand.
Coated in varying cuts of suede and nubuck, a cream white mesh base layer allows its midfoots dark chocolate brown overlay to contrast starkly alongside seldom jet-black hints which darken the panels at the forefoot, sock liner and “N” logo. Treating its lightened mudguard in a caramel nubuck that renders again amidst the heel tab, a rough suede heel counter enjoys an in-between brown shading, surrounding the silver and black “USA” branding.
