From his Hall of Fame career as a blue-collar low-block bully to his humorous persona on the set of TNT’s iconic Inside the NBA, Charles Barkley has cemented himself within both the basketball ecosystem and its various extensions of pop culture. While his on-court accomplishments have fallen to the backdrop amidst his on-screen career, Barkley was one of the most influential instigators for The Swoosh and its Force-tooled series – which is now being recognized by the return of the Nike Air Max CB 94.

Releasing at the height of his playing career with the Phoenix Suns, Barkley’s first signature silhouette debuted in line with his recent trip to the NBA Finals and regular season MVP while hosting “The Charles Barkley Show”. Following the pair’s initial return at the top of 2022 with a Suns-inspired outfit, the next proposition comes a full year afterward while proffering an all-new aesthetic in conjunction with the Beaverton-based brand’s ongoing “Burnished” series.

Exploring an air-brushed aesthetic with faded black accents lining the clad grey overlay’s stitched edges, further pitch-dark color matches render along the psych ward-like strapping system of the tongue in a murdered-out effort. Furthering the monochrome aesthetic along its heel tab, pull tabs and the litany of nylon perforations extending across the midfoot overlays, a seldom sampling of a golden-tinted “Wheat” envelops both the sock and tongue liner in tandem with its selective dispersion across the tread’s pucks underfoot. As one of the first on-court silhouettes to proffer an exposed Air sole unit, the tonal composition concludes with a clad-black treatment across its midsole and “Godzilla” patterned outsole.
