For five decades the Nike Blazer has remained tried-and-true since George “The Iceman” Gervin suited up in the OG basketball tooling out in San Antonio. But as the silhouette lives on, the Beaverton brand’s sub-division of Skateboarding has pledged the construction to a multitude of design knives. Now celebrating 50 years in rotation, the Nike SB’s patchwork composition lands on the Blazer Mid in a deep “Maroon” cast.
Having previously explored a clad-black effort, the latter’s “Wheat” treated heel and tongue tab proffer its mainstay placement surrounded by a disparately treated dark red upper. While the heel and tongue construction are enlarged and raised at a near 90-degree angle due to the reconfigured panels, “Maroon” shades envelop the suede overlays and nylon tongue and overlay. Featuring exaggerated embroidered branding across the aforementioned tabs, color-matched laces and midfoot Swooshes expand the chosen hue’s dominance before a solid-white sole unit concludes the design elements.
Joining the Nike SB Dunk Low “Wheat Toe” with a construction barrier adhesive motif laying claim to the tan-colored insoles, enjoy official images of the Nike SB Blazer Mid “Maroon” below while we sit tight on further release details.
