Leading the Boston Celtics to first place in the Eastern Conference, Jayson Tatum has just begun to enjoy the fruits of becoming Jordan Brand’s latest signature athlete. While a release date for his debut signature silhouette looms, the three-time All-Star’s brand is expanding outwards from PEs to his latest lifestyle collaboration with the recently revitalized Jordan Nu Retro 1.
Set to release tomorrow, the 20th-anniversary silhouette draws its inspiration from the design style of famed tattoo artist Steve Wiebe and the vast amount of ink that he’s commissioned for Tatum. Attributing his 1998 birth year and star along the heel counter in the same font style as Tatum’s knee tat, “U. City” receives a cursive finish along the forefoot mirroring its placement on Tatum’s lower back. Infusing debossed winged overlays and quilted insoles amongst the Air Jordan 1 extension, a tonal wash of “Sail” coats the smooth leather base layer while vibrant creams envelop the raised panels, heel counter and sock liner.
Illuminated by casting “University Red” across its vamp, leather tongue construction and branded embellishments, enjoy official images of the Jayson Tatum x Jordan Nu Retro 1 “Fresh Ink” below alongside our accompanying store list for when the pair releases tomorrow, January 31st.
In other news from the Beaverton brand, Charles Barkley’s Nike Air Max CB ’94 is returning this Holiday season in “Black/Game Royal”.
