Pharrell Williams may have recently been appointed creative director of Menswear at Louis Vuitton, but the Virginia-native continues churning out projects with his adidas family. The latest?: An NMD S1 RYAT covered in olive and pink tones.
Informed by the outdoors, the BOOST-cushioned silhouette features a protective and reliable design. According to Williams, “The RYAT is a cultural artifact and an object for humans pushing forward on our planet.” As such, the high-top silhouette mixes function and fashion, donning a mix of premium suede and leather overlays throughout the upper. Rubberized mudguard and toecap components help augment the sneaker’s performance; the rugged, Trefoul-shaped outsole follows suit. Altogether, each aforementioned detail helps expand Pharrell and the Three Stripes’ industry-changing partnership.
