The adidas adiFOM Q was undoubtedly one of last year’s most divisive footwear designs. And while the EVA foam-based design led contributed to Kanye West’s disapproval of the Three Stripes, it seems the model isn’t done with Ye just yet.
To welcome spring, the layered adidas offering has appeared in a series of earth tones. While not unordinary given the time of year, the latest adiFOM Q bunch features abstract patterns across its uppers à la YEEZY “MX” (“mix”) styles. The design choice is undoubtedly intentional given that the Adilette 22 has also taken on brown, grey, and beige hues animated with similar patterns. It’s important to note, however, that adidas‘ official naming system calls the abstract application “Strata” and not “MX” like the seemingly defunct adidas YEEZY line, which included the YEEZY FOAM RUNNER.
Each adiFOM Q “Strata” includes a darker-colored bootie visible via the outer shell’s side perforations. Streaks of “Savanna,” “Dash Grey,” and “Olive” run from sole unit to mid-foot. The tread underfoot favors a uniform finish, as do the laces. All together, the aforementioned components help expand the lifecycle of the German sportswear behemoth’s bold bet from 2022.
Enjoy official photos of the pairs ahead. An adidas.com launch is expected soon, but the three styles are currently available at other big box retailers.
