As the Nike Zoom Pegasus 40 begins its release cycle, the silhouette is honoring several Oregon-based running clubs. Case in point?: A pair commemorating Union Athletics Club from Portland.
Akin to other styles inspired by the Bowerman Track Club and Oregon Track Club, the pair honoring the Union cohort – formerly the Nike Oregon Project – takes on a two-tone arrangement. Breathable textile uppers and foam midsoles opt for clean white finishes that allow for the slightest of contrast to shine. Profile swooshes, laces, and “UNION”-branded tabs in the tongue deviate in a rich royal blue hue. The professional club’s name also lands on the spine with a reflective touch. Lastly, outsoles opt for a black look that doesn’t detract much from the rest of the celebratory shoe.
