Jared Ebanks From the Nike Air Huarache to the Air Max 1 and the Nike LeBron 20, Liverpool FC has long since been well-represented amongst the sneaker community. Ahead of their upcoming match against Manchester City this Saturday, the Premier League club is receiving yet another footwear collaboration at the hands of Converse.
Indulging in a duo of disparate propositions from the Boston brand’s archives, the upcoming collection features both the Chuck Taylor and Run Star Hike in opposing tinctures. Celebrating the club’s rich history and fan base, both pair’s uppers receive an all-out assemblage of graphics inspired by the banners and scarves that are waved on match day.
Treating the staple Con silhouette to a jet-black base layer and grey print, a softened cream sets up shop along the laces, the medial side’s Chevron Star and the toe cap for a quick neutral accent. Elsewhere, hits of “Tomato” red brighten the Club’s embroidered crest atop the tongue and the medial sidewall’s stitched mid-foot patch.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Run Star Hike comes clad in an “Oat Milk” dipped upper with its medial side branding denoting a pitch-dark contrast. Both propositions feature an “Egret” coated sole unit while the aforementioned model comes affixed with a dull “Rainforest” green accent cast across its serrated tread.
