Leading up to Air Max Day, the Nike Air Max 90 took a backseat to the Air Max 1, the latter of which released its “Big Bubble” colorway amongst many an inline offering. But with the aforementioned nod to ’86 now officially out of the way, the younger Tinker Hatfield-designed icon can finally spread its wings, doing so in a colorway that’s somewhat reminiscent of the Air Trainer 1 “Chlorophyll.”
A very loose interpretation of the above-mentioned pair, this Nike Air Max 90 applies “Spring Green” to its Swoosh, branding, trims, and lining. Much of the adjacent construction is far less colorful: the suede quarter and vamp, for starters, features a grey finish, while the mesh unders, sole, and lace unit opt for a bright white. The mudguard, which is built of a more robust, smooth leather, opts for a black finish, rounding out the design with a hint of OG DNA.
