Sneaker News After pulling the Air Max 1 from the shelves, Nike has opened the floodgates for the original Air Max sneaker to run rampant through the community with a variety of styles confirmed for 2023. While the brand has focused on the “Big Bubble” iteration as the chief plot of the story, ’87 fanatics need nothing more than clean color-blocking to be convinced.
Similar to the Air Max 1 “Aqua” edition that released as part of the Anniversary line-up from 2018, this upcoming Air Max 1 opts for a smooth leather on the mudguard and Swoosh, off-setting the neutral grey quarter/heel combo and the heritage sport mesh base. The familiar “Aquatone” shade, which has been recently featured in some Air Jordan and in-line Nike Sportswear drops, achieves that retro runner aesthetic, and we commend Nike for spurning the monochromatic outsoles in favor of the eclectic blocking.
A release date has yet to be revealed, but expect these this Summer 2023 for $150.
