The upcoming 2023 WNBA Season is draped in excitement. Following the League’s Draft on Monday night and the offseason reshuffling that yielded a duo of super teams, The Swoosh has not only served as an equity partner for the W but also taken a revamped approach towards incorporating women’s hoops within their off-court lineup of footwear. Continuing the Beaverton brand’s co-branded collection of footwear, the Air Jordan 1 Low Elevate SE dresses in an honorary “Brilliant Orange” ensemble.
Similar to the pebble grain leather that composed a Nike Dunk High ahead of the 2022 All-Star Game, the basketball-reminiscent detailing treats the mudguard, quarter, heel tab and foxing to a “Brilliant Orange” injection of personality. Offset by crisp white tumbled leather underlays and a brand-less tongue construction, the collection of premium textures ensues throughout the split cream leather and supple wheat-cured nylon collar liner. Accompanied by jet-black mid-foot Swooshes that receive a glossy finish, the AJ1 Elevate’s exaggerated sole unit returns in a clad-white outfit and juxtaposed pitch-dark tread while the insoles collection of multi-color stars could point towards the silhouette’s potential release in mid-July in tune with the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas.
While we await further release details, in the meantime enjoy an up-close look at the WNBA x Air Jordan 1 Low Elevate SE “Brilliant Orange” below.
In other news, Jayson Tatum’s latest Jordan Tatum 1 draws upon elements of his affinity for 1960s Mustangs and the aesthetics associated with the Air Jordan 12.
