Recent history hasn’t been too favorable to Ewing Athletics, but the old school basketball-obsessed brand has been quietly delivering compelling styles over the last decade. To celebrate spring, community, and style, the Patrick Ewing-inspired imprint has teamed up with Mike’s Hot Honey, a pioneer in the hot honey space.
The partnership has landed on The Hot Honey Sport Lite, a reimagined version of Ewing Athletics’ first cross-training shoe from 1993. White premium leather and burgundy suede share the entirety of the pair’s upper, nodding to Mike Kurtz’s – founder of Mike’s Hot Honey – high school (Amherst Regional) and college colors (UMass). The regal ensemble also commemorates the official colors of the nation’s leading hot honey brand. Underfoot, the gum outsole draws inspiration from the wildflower honey Kurtz uses in his signature recipe.
Other details of the limited edition Ewing Athletics Sport Lite include the New York Knicks Hall of Famer’s signature on the midsole, and Mike’s Hot Honey logos on the heel and tongue. Sockliners also feature branding from both companies. Additionally, each pair ships with alternate burgundy laces and a jar of Mike’s Hot Honey for customers to enjoy.
