Jared Ebanks Becoming just the third-ever NBA player of Filipino descent, Jalen Green has been embracing his Southeast Asian roots since storming into the League in 2021 as the second-overall pick. Traveling back to Manila last summer for his tour with adidas, the 3-Stripes are paying further homage to Green’s heritage for the start of AAPI Heritage Month with a colorful tribute via the adidas BYW Select.
Having worn the titular pair throughout a number of games in March, the Lightstrike cushioned ensemble enjoys a mismatched color blocking utilizing the hues of the Philippines flag for a vibrant “Vivid Red” right foot and striking “Royal Blue” left foot. Offset by the opposing tint along the laces and presiding loops, a synonymous wave of crisp white crashes atop both pair’s neoprene heel counter and BOOST midsole while hits of yellow strike the tread and shank underfoot.
