On December 9th, 2004, the legendary status of Tracy McGrady was cemented once again as the then-Houston Rockets guard miraculously dropped 13 points in 33 seconds to beat the Spurs in what was assumed to be the closing minute of a San Antonio dub. Nearly 20 years later, the Three Stripes is memorializing the near-impossible feat through a luxurious take on the adidas T-Mac 5.
While McGrady was wearing his sixth signature silhouette at the time, the shroud-covered ensemble retains the memory from 19 years ago with 13/33 branding embossed at the tongue while woodgrain accents roam at the heel and mid-foot shank underfoot mimicking the hardwood floor panels of the Toyota Center. Elsewhere, the silhouette dresses in a pitch-dark ensemble with a shimmering silver metallic base layer coming contrasted via the jet-black nubuck forefoot strap and glossy finish attributed to the mudguard.
Adorned with various “T-MAC” branding, the adidas T-Mac 5 “13 In 33” is currently available at adidas Taiwan. As we await a stateside release, enjoy official imagery of the pair below in the meantime.
In other news, Converse is teaming up with fragment design for a collaborative “Sport Royal” take on the Weapon.
