The Nike Air Max 90 “University Gold” Is Perfect For Summer

The Nike Air Max 90 debuted more than 30 years ago, but it continues to play an important role in the Swoosh’s lineup of products.

Ahead of summer, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic design emerged in a sun-reminiscent color scheme. “White” and “Photon Dust” hues take on the bulk of the upper’s base layers, making for an arrangement similar to the original Air Max 90. TPU components along the tongue and at the spine introduce a vibrant “University Gold” hue, animating the grayscale ensemble often associated with the sneaker. The tongue’s underside, collar lining, and mudguard favor an all-“Black” finish that further contrasts the rich yellow flair. Underfoot, Air Max bubble cassettes revert to the eye-catching golden hue, helping round out the refreshing take on Hatfield’s design from 1990.
