Widely regarded as leaders in the performance-running space, Nike is set to take its road and track race findings onto the trails with the all-new Nike Ultrafly Trail.
At quick glance, the new shoe draws comparisons to both the Nike Pegasus and Vaporfly series. Closer inspection, however, reveals a new line of footwear from the Oregon-based company. Vaporweave material makes up the entirety of the upper, delivering a breathable, durable, and lightweight solution for long sessions off-road. The choice in upper – which was featured on the original Vaporfly NEXT% – is coupled with a full-length ZoomX midsole. The ultra-responsive cushioning solution is coupled with a fabric wrapping for increased stability. Furthermore, the Ultrafly Trail introduces the Swoosh’s industry-changing carbon fiber Flyplate to the Nike Trail family.
Underfoot, the Ultrafly Trail features a Vibram® Outsole, another first for a Nike Running product. To reduce weight, the Nike Trail offering boasts Vibram® Litebase without sacrificing the traction delivered by tried-and-proven Vibram® Megagrip rubber. All together, the sole unit and upper make for a trail shoe that weighs 300g/10.5oz (US Men’s 10) – a US Women’s 8 comes in at 249g/8.8oz.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for a nike.com launch come August for $250 USD.
