Sneaker News We’ve come a long way since the New Balance 550 exploded onto the retro footwear scene thanks to NYC’s Aimé Leon Dore and their subtle vintage-minded upgrades to the model. The French-meets-Americana trend championed by Teddy Santis’ brand may have cooled off a bit, but 550 loyalists have been keeping a keen ear to the ground for new colorways, and New Balance has yet to show any restraint for this once highly sought-after sneaker.
This new women’s colorway blends a rather predictable aesthetic, utilizing suede, leather, and mesh construction with the brand’s signature “Sea Salt” hue. Touches off off-white and light grey also adorn the upper, while a green-heavy package of accents appears on the N logo, tongue piping, rear quarter overlay.
This New Balance 550 for women will launch globally soon, but is available right now at BSTN online.
In other NB updates, the New Balance 550 “Black Hemp” will be available beginning on June 1st.
