First teased in early February, the Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 finally releases tomorrow, June 1st.
Designed via a “Rose from Harlem” concept, the upcoming retro marks the first time the New York-native receives her own shoe from Jordan Brand. Throughout the 2010s, Taylor partnered with other companies in the industry, but her linkup with Michael Jordan’s eponymous label seems more fitting given her personal style and commitment to Harlem.
The modified Air Jordan 1 by Taylor features a “Chicago” reminiscent color scheme, but with personalized touches. For starters, “TEY” replaces traditional branding on the left shoe’s tongue label, cementing the multi-hyphenate within the Jumpman family. Furthermore, profile swooshes are adorned with zig-zag stitching that evokes the rose-like swooshes elsewhere on the pair. “A Rose from Harlem” messaging lands on the ankle flaps’ undersides, while the custom shoe box also references Taylor’s concept. Lastly, the reworked sole unit underfoot opts for a two-tone outsole that matches the remainder of the Air Jordan retro.
Enjoy another set of photos of the pair ahead, while you wait for a Nike SNKRS launch tomorrow, June 1st.
