Michael Le For 2023, the Swoosh is continuing a long-running tradition, crafting yet another love letter to Puerto Rico.
This time around, Nike is drawing direct inspiration from a staple Puerto Rican treat: piragua. Available in a wide assortment of flavors, many of which are referenced atop the shoes and its packaging, the dessert informs almost every aspect of not one but two different colorways of the Air Max 1. And though different in their respective palettes — opting for either “Blue Gale” or “Orange Frost” — each bears many of the same details, sporting oversized Jewel Swooshes as well as many an overt nod to the island.
Enjoy another look at the Nike Air Max 1 “Puerto Rico” in both its colorways ahead. The “Blue Gale” is only available at very select retailers, though a future drop could possibly be in the works. The “Orange Frost,” on the other hand, will be hitting both Nike SNKRS as well as a wider list of stores.
In other news, the Air Ship Tech Grey is also dropping this week.
