Ambitious Colorblocking Decorates The Latest Nike Air Max 1

Nike’s imagination is running wild for 2023’s Air Max 1 releases. From unearthing lost sketches with the “Big Bubble” to finding inspiration from soft vinyl toys popularized in Japan, the Swoosh is pulling out all the stops to ensure that everyone will find at least one style they’ll find irresistible.

This upcoming release may not have any ties to any sub-culture or brand history, but it’s rather a creative take on color-blocking that accentuates Tinker Hatfield’s original design. While the fore-foot and upper quarter appear like a standard pair of Air Max 1s with the tan overlay and white base-layer, the heel is where the magic occurs as the heel panel dips downwards into the mudguard drips into the midsole with bright yellow hues. A crimson pink also appears right at the mid-foot, connecting with the bottom of the quarter overlay.

Given that there’s no specific markings or variant logos, this Air Max 1 is likely a standard in-line release and will be available sometime this Fall 2023 season.

In other Air Max news, kids will receive the “Sport Red” Air Max 1 beginning in July.
