Shining the Swoosh’s running heritage through a more contemporary lens, the Nike Phoenix Waffle borders between the new and familiar, ostensibly borrowing design cues from not only past Waffle-soled runners but also the Pegasus franchise. Here, this brand new, women’s exclusive offering arrives clad almost entirely in “University Gold.” The color is applied to the nylon unders, the suede overlays, and the tumbled leather Swoosh, while the midsole and various trims opt for a white and silver reflective finish, respectively.
