From the hardwood to the baseball diamond, New Balance dominates the Newton, Massachusetts campus. And come this fall, everyone from students, athletes and fans alike will be able to rock this new branded installment of the 550.
Taking on the private institutions’ synonymous red and gold color palette – amplified by the school’s logo at the tongue – the Basketball Oxford is introduced through a pristine white backdrop, stretching colorless shades from the vamp and perforated mid-foot overlay to the heel. Crimson red detailing assumes a dominant majority of real estate, curing the lining of the tongue and collar while simultaneously treating the pair’s 550 branding, the sole unit stitching and the bulbous N logo accentuated by a gold foil trim. Elsewhere, a seldom wave of greyscale tones sets up shop along the suede and mesh heel counter in tandem with a lightened treatment cast across the tread underfoot.
