Over the course of several seasons, Craig Green has made quite the mark on the Three Stripes, ushering in what are arguably some of the most eccentric sneakers the footwear brand has seen to date. But it’s clear that we haven’t seen anything yet, as the British designer is further subverting our expectations ahead of Fall/Winter ’23.
Enter the aptly-named Split Stan Smith, a reconstructed version of the much-beloved tennis shoe. At the hands of Craig Green, the icon has been cut down the center into two separate halves, which are then welded together with a thick slab of rubber. And while the end result is something quite alien, the design still pays adequate respect to the original. Alongside boasting a relatively familiar construction, each of the three colorways — White, Black, and Beige — feature the silhouette’s signature branding, albeit in a spliced together form.
Enjoy a closer look at Craig Green’s wild take on the Stan Smith right here. These are currently expected to release at select retailers on September 14th, with adidas.com likely to follow shortly behind.
In other news, the Air Force 1 Linen is returning for 2024.
