Jovani Hernandez In December 2022, New Balance unveiled its popular 2002R silhouette with GORE-TEX updates. As fall and winter return, the brand’s surprise hit has returned in another batch of weather-resistant makeovers.
The latest New Balance 2002RX styles feature mostly tonal outfits. “Concrete,” “Harbor Grey,” and “Slate Grey” cover one option, while the second pair indulges in a snow-reminiscent “White,” “Brighton Grey,” and “Silver Metallic” combination. Each take likely makes way for bolder makeovers, and brings New Balance heritage to the forefront. Construction across the uppers features all the same panels as the standard model, but the inner membrane delivers protection against inclement weather. Callouts to the industry-leading GORE-TEX material are kept to a minimum, appearing in understated colors at the spine. Underfoot, the NB 860v2 sole unit keeps things simple as well, matching their respective uppers with shades of white and grey.
