Jared Ebanks adidas recent correlation with elements of pop culture has rekindled a love for the 3-Stripes across a myriad of fandoms. From Homer Simpson’s own Stan Smith to Yu-Gi-Oh! and Star Wars, the adidas Originals banner now teams up with familiar furry face; Hello Kitty.
The German sportswear behemoth is more than acclimated to taking on the likeness of the Japanese character, having crafted both a Stan Smith and Superstar Forum Lo in the past year alone. While a Samba is also in the works for later this year, Hello Kitty is first taking over the classic Superstar construction for the Fall season. Composed almost entirely in smooth white leather, a seldom jet-black contrast clarifies the trefoil heel tab logo while vibrant pink tongue tabs and insoles bear Hello Kitty collaborative brandings. What’s more, Hello Kitty’s pastel-cured flowers litter the upper lateral sidewalls in a lasting connection to the fictional icon.
The grade school-exclusive adidas Superstar “Hello Kitty” is scheduled to release on October 1st for a retail price of $90. In the meantime, the pair can be seen in detailed imagery below.
