From Christmas to Halloween, Nike celebrates the year’s range of holidays with an annual collection of aptly-colored footwear. As the sneaker ecosystem becomes more privy to seeing these honorary efforts months before their eventual release, the Nike SB Dunk Low has since been chosen to introduce the New Year’s Valentine’s Day collection in a two-part pack titled “City of Love”.
Having taken over the Peter Moore design’s classic composition last February with cream-colored accents, the skate-ready tooling now executes a tonal burgundy treatment. Arriving in first-look imagery in late September, the low-top trim compiles a set of faded “Earth” toned tumbled leather overlays atop the “Burgundy Crush” nubuck base layer. Chocolate brown contrasts clarify the oval laces and supple collar lining while the wine-tinted sole unit underfoot is cast in a speckled white aesthetic. What’s more, the brown-trimmed profile Swooshes shine in a “Dark Team Red” finish which amplifies the muted surroundings.
On the other side of the pack, an opposing composition takes hold as the low-top trim is flooded with a cast of light neutrals. A crisp white hue illuminates the supple nubuck vamp, quarter, tongue and collar while a complimentary set of “Light Sail” accents liven the surrounding suede overlays. Buttercream hues then animate the laces and tongue tabs while the speckled sole unit is stricken with crimson red stitching in connection to the singular red line that wraps around a hand along the insoles.
The Nike SB Dunk Low “City of Love” pack is expected to be released in February 2024 for a retail price of $125. In the meantime, both pairs can be seen ahead in official first-look imagery.
For more from underneath the Nike Inc. umbrella, the Jordan 4 “Sail” recently surfaced.
