Michael Le Whereas the mainline works near exclusively with Reebok, MM6 Maison Margiela opts to design their collaborative footwear primarily alongside Salomon. And for their second joint effort with the footwear brand, the diffusion label presents not only four different sneakers but also a small selection of complementary accessories.
Although made up of several new products, the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Mid Trainer undoubtedly stands at the helm. Coming in both a “Light Blue” as well as a “Bordeaux” colorway, the model begins with an inner slip-on shoe that’s then shrouded by a toggle-fastened, waterproof gaiter. A somewhat over-proportioned, rubber-treaded sole unit sits right below, balancing out the mid-cut shape of the design itself. In addition to this style, a thigh-high version is also available in “Black” as well as “Dirty Wash.” The range is then rounded out with multiple iterations of both the XT 15 backpack and gilet vest.
The second collection from MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon is available right now via MaisonMargiela.com. The Cross Mid Trainer and its thigh-high counterpart retail for $355 and $590, respectively.
