The Up There x ASICS Gel-Lyte III Takes After The Feathers Of A Kookaburra

Australia-based store front Up There has transitioned many elements of the Southern Hemisphere to the mainstream through a number of carefully crafted collaborations. After teaming up with ASICS last year for a rose pink-injected floral homage to the two respective countries, the banner from “Down Under” has returned in striking fashion by treating the ASICS Gel-Lyte III to the sights and sounds of the Kookaburra and its iconic “laugh” synonymous with almost every Australian.

Formulated utilizing the earthy tones that reflect off the bird’s plumage, a cream-white hue consumes the mesh vamp, tongue construction, laces, inner lining and suede mudguard while the quarter embarks upon a dark brown-speckled gradient, which then consumes the hairy textured heel counter. Accented with flashes of bright blue, the turquoise-based treatment ensues across the mid-foot tiger stripe and along the tips of the cream laces while further accenting the blackened tread underfoot. Accompanied by an additional set of brown and blue oval laces, the silhouette comes housed in a delicate cream boxing that boasts a pair of Kookaburras resting on a branch.

The Up There x ASICS Gel-Lyte III is scheduled to release in Australia on October 27th for a retail price of $150 while a global release has been positioned for November 4th. In the meantime, the pair can be seen below in detailed imagery.

In other news, the Jordan 1 Low OG “Shadow” is returning in the Summer of 2024.
