The Women’s Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low “Varsity Red/White” Highlights Chicago Bulls Colors

Women’s-exclusive Air Jordan shoes have existed sparingly since the late 1990s. Over the last handful of years, Nike, Inc. has made a more conscious effort to cater to women consumers, tapping specific creative forces and launching special collections that celebrate women.

The Oregon-based institution has been quietly building out the Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low‘s catalog, a fashion-forward take on Michael Jordan’s first signature model. Nike Air cushioning inside the sole unit brings performance benefits from 1985 to the present day, while the silhouette’s low-top trim and exaggerated, platform sole expands the Air Jordan 1‘s off-court legacy.

Leather construction across the upper ostensibly nods to the Chicago Bulls, donning a combination of white and red hues. The arrangement sees ruby-colored flair animate panels around the toe, along the tongue, and throughout the heel à la Air Jordan 1 ’85 “New Beginnings” from 2020. Branding on the tongue label and Achilles’ Heel, however, opt for an experimental aesthetic that further caters to bold fashion enthusiasts. The enlarged midsole underfoot keeps things simple and clean, while the reworked traction mixes performance heritage and modern style sensibilities, marrying sport and fashion.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for a nike.com launch. The women’s-exclusive retro is priced at $135 USD.
