“Light Green” Gets The Nike Air Force 1 Wild Ready For The Trails

The Nike Air Force 1 Wild isn’t going anywhere.

Introduced to the world in April, the reworked Air Force 1 has emerged in handfuls of color schemes over the last six months. Retro Nike Hike and ACG design cues are abundant on the updated silhouette, further distancing the “presidential” sneaker from the hardwood. Bruce Kilgore’s blueprint is evident on the style, but the old school basketball sneaker has been prepped for the trails via modified materials, extra accoutrements, and a different sole unit.

A light green tone covers the bulk of the textile and suede upper. Stitching at the lateral forefoot and lace loops along the tongue introduce rich blue contrast; non-standard pull tabs on the top of the tongue and bootie-like collar follow suit. The two-tone arrangement doesn’t overtly reference a single item, but falls in line with early hiking footwear from Nike – the brand favored vibrant greens, yellows, purples, blues, and other tones for the trails. Nike Hike differed from the sea of brown boots that dominated off-road adventures throughout the 1970s and 80s. Underfoot, sole units don’t do much in terms of eye-catching colors, but their textile-wrapped midsole and aggressive traction deliver reliable, comfortable performance.

No firm nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the brand as of this writing, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. The Air Force 1 Wild is priced at $145 USD.
