Back in November, adidas kicked off the Consortium Cup, a four-week bracket-style tournament pitting 16 internationally renowned shops against one another for the chance to have their exclusive designs made into limited quantities. After reaching the semi-finals, Lafayette-based storefront Sneaker Politics has revealed its collaborative take on the iconic adidas Samba ahead of the silhouette’s release on Wednesday.
Composed utilizing the primary hues from the color wheel, a premium collection of textiles fills the upper of the brand’s mock-up turned silhouette. Dawning a shimmering blue nylon base layer, navy-tinted suedes cure the mudguard and quarter while the equally hairy tongue is dipped in a strict green treatment. Complimented by cream-white laces and dual-branded tongue tabs, a vibrant red hue animates the leather profile 3-Stripes and the heel tab resting atop a classic gum outsole. Stamped with golden “POLITICS” embossing on each lateral heel, the inner lining and insole come decked out in a playful leopard print detailing harkening to the textiles of the 70s and 80s.
The Sneaker Politics x adidas Samba “Consortium Cup” is scheduled to release at Sneaker Politics storefronts on November 18th for a retail price of $120 while an online release has been slated for November 19th. In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.
In other news, the Jordan 4 “Olive” releases on November 18th.
