Debuting at the turn of the calendar year, the ASICS Gel-NYC has quickly cemented itself as an integral piece of the Japan-based brand’s hybrid lifestyle-runner aesthetics. Begetting a fair amount of appearances in textured collections, the Gel-cushioned silhouette recently appeared in a bespoke greyscale treatment.
Borrowing a mesh and synthetic tooling synonymous with early 2000s runners, the low-top trim expands upon the neutral nostalgia of decades past with a clad grey outfit consuming the upper with a duo of greyscale shades. Complemented by suede accents gracing the mudguard and heel, the upper’s tonal ensemble is juxtaposed immediately by a pitch-dark sole unit. While glossy finishes animate the pods of the midsole, the surrounding real estate assumes a matte jet-black conclusion to the pair underfoot.
The ASICS Gel-NYC “Glacier Grey” is currently available via JD Sports for a retail price of $130. In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.
In other news, the Jordan 3 “Fear” releases on November 25th.
