Sneaker News Long before he was appointed as the head of the ASICS SportStyle division, Kiko Kostadinov’s involvement with the brand was that of mere collaborator, dreaming up some of the best “dad shoes” on the market via the now-mythical GEL-Burz 1 + 2 back in 2017. His retro-futurist influence was immediate as the brand delivered its most iconic silhouettes and modernized concoctions with the proper colors and materials, none as apparent as this upcoming GEL-Kayano 14.
While neither a Kiko collaboration nor an in-line release under the UBS-1 umbrella, this GEL-Kayano 14 conjures up that distinct look and feel established by the partnership. Draped in muted olive/grey tones and contrasted with a concrete grey, this upcoming drop can easily be mistaken as a product of the Bulgarian fashion designer, which suggests an easy sell-out on release date.
Seasonal GEL-Kayano 14s may have firm release dates from time to time, but as of the publishing of this article, these are expected to drop in early 2024.
