Inspired by LeBron James’ protective nurturing as a father, the Nike LeBron 21 has taken ingenuity to new heights as nearly every colorway of the low-top model assumes a connection to varying types of protective crystals and seashells. Much like its “Conchiolin”, “Abalone” and “Dragon Pearl” compositions, LeBron James’ 21st signature now assumes a striking connection to the carbonate material, “Aragonite”.
Formed from the biological and physical processes of precipitation from both marine and freshwater environments, the naturally occurring crystals’ burnt orange tint is expressed through a warm “Terra Blush” treatment that ensues across the outsole, upper tongue, heel tab and the seldom trim of the profile swooshes. In stark difference to its past toolings, here the upper is anchored in a thick canvas material that matches the detailing of denim with a marbled blue and white aesthetic flowing from the toe to the collar. Elsewhere, a pastel-infused pairing of “Jade Ice/Emerald Rise” effectively illuminates the mesh tongue, inner lining, laces and the veined heel counter before a faint “Platinum Violet” finishes across the Zoom Air-supported midsole.
The Nike LeBron 21 “Aragonite” has already been released in Korea. While we await news regarding a stateside release, the pair can be seen in official imagery ahead.
For more basketball offerings, the Kobe 4 “Black Mamba” debuts on December 27th.
