A “Playful Pink” Nike Vapormax Plus Closes Out The Year Of Barbie

Introduced in January 2018, the Nike Vapormax Plus continues to play an important role in the brand’s lineup of products.

Rooted in heritage but designed for the future, the hybrid silhouette marries two innovative creations into one: 1998’s Air Max Plus and 2017’s Vapormax cushioning. The result has been a widely-celebrated mashup of two industry-shifting designs, as proven not only by its number of sales but also its ubiquity across the globe. As 2023 comes to a close, the inherently-bold Vapormax Plus has taken on soft “Pink Foam” and “Playful Pink” tones. Suitable to wear during any rewatch of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, the sneaker features the lighter of the two hue across its textile upper base. Palm tree-inspired TPU cages deviate in a richer shade, although they pale in comparison to the tongue badge, heel miniature swooshes, and spine pull tab. The robust sole unit underfoot follows the same color scheme, although its plump visible Air cushioning setup plays with transparency. Together, each aforementioned component helps create a compelling women’s style that’s ready for the warmer time of year.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. The “Pink Foam/Playful Pink” Vapormax Plus is currently available via nike.com for $210 USD.
