Nike’s Premium Cortez Reappears With “Stadium Green” Accents

A nod to the past firmly rooted in current "Neo-vintage" trends.

Nike’s Premium Cortez Reappears With “Stadium Green” Accents

The Nike Cortez has been delivering style for more than 50 years. As it heads into 2024, the old school performance runner continues to do the same.

If you’ve ever read Phil Knight’s memoir Shoe Dog, you’d know how important the Cortez was to the brand’s earliest days. Although it’s far (far) removed from its performance days, the silhouette still benefits from its performance elements. The sleek upper is elevated via suede panels at the tip of the toe, along the tongue, and around the heel. The “Sail” touch on a newly-surfaced pair works together with “colorless” leather panels for a lifestyle-oriented option. Profile swooshes also join the fashionable approach, leaving Achilles’ Heel overlays to revel in a rich “Stadium Green” hue. Branding elsewhere also opts for the stark contrasting tone, creating a two-tone combination that’s perfect for women.

Underfoot, the Cortez’s game-changing midsole and tread arrangement keeps things true to its 1972 blueprint. The elevated foam setup revels in a “Neo-vintage” aesthetic that’s interrupted with eye-catching “Stadium Green” flair. Serrated outsoles revert to an “aged,” yellow makeover that nods to the past while being firmly rooted in current trends.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch by Spring 2024.
