The Nike Air Max Plus is ready for the limelight as the globally popular silhouette from 1999 is set to celebrate its 25th Anniversary through a variety of exciting products. Given how the Air Max TN is so near and dear to the hearts of Europeans, Nike has chosen to kick off the festivities with the Mercurial TN — a combination of its top-of-the-line on-pitch boot with Sean McDowell’s timeless design.
Officially presented by the @nikefootball and @psg Instagram accounts, the Mercurial TN is a clear-cut homage to the innovative model that evolved Air Max technology. While the shoes don’t feature any actual Air Max cushioning, the footbed is supported by Zoom Air that spans three quarters of the footbed. The upper molds the DNA of the Air Max Plus to fit the skin, complete with the lava-lamp inspired exterior cage above the Vaporposite+ upper.
