This New Balance 1906R “Metallic Teal” Proves Again That GRs Are As Good As Collaborations

The New Balance 1906R has risen to be the most trending silhouette to start the new year, much in part due to the organic energy being built by those who’ve gotten the opportunity to collaboration on the model. Salehe Bembury just recently shared some release details surrounding his “Heat Be Hot” capsule, while Action Bronson continues to keep his “Rose Water” colorway in rotation.

However, it’s clear that inline releases crafted by New Balance are as good as their special projects. Not to take away any of the fine work done by the aforementioned creatives, but the in-house color team deserves a lot of credit for their poignancy with color-blocking. This upcoming 1906R makes use of a metallic teal green on the overlay, pairing it with metallic gunmetal toes, a khaki heel counter, a cream mesh base. Yellowed soles further adds to the trendy aesthetic.

Our point? Collaborations are nice, but don’t sleep on GRs. Expect these on newbalance.com soon for $150.
