Sneaker News Parisian music collective 99Ginger’s got a New Balance 1906R collaboration. The good news? It’s one of the best designs on the revamped runner we’ve ever seen. The bad news? Getting a pair is impossible.
99Ginger confirms that this luxed-out take on the model, which features a glossy green croc-print pattern on the upper, is for its close compatriots only. If you’re not a part of their inner circle of Friends & Family, you won’t be able to get your hands on a pair. However, there’s speculation that an actual collaborative release to the public is in the works sometime later this year.
In addition to the choice of exotic materials and gaudy luxury touches, 99Ginger strips the upper of their New Balance 1906R of its signature overlays, instead relying on contrast stitching to achieve the silhouette of the designs. It turns out, they’re as good at designing shoes as they are at creating mixes and throwing parties, so let’s hope the above rumor becomes a reality.
