One of the most controversial sneaker releases in Nike history is set to return in 2024. Marking the point in time where LeBron James went full heel and took his talents to Miami, the “South Beach” LeBron 8s grew to infamy — and later to all-time legendary shoe status. That striking teal and pink, which hasn’t been revisited often in the years that followed, makes a return to the Nike LeBron signature line.

“South Beach” is now set to land on the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen sneaker — one of several basketball models under the Nike LeBron signature business. The AMPD iteration, which infuses elements of the Air Zoom Generation, debuted earlier this year in the “First Game” edition; it has since revealed itself in a variety of modern styles while also touching on historic moments of the King’s career. This pair obviously references the time LeBron went from chosen to vilified in one summer, but he’s since redeemed himself by bringing a ‘chip to his hometown in 2016.

This Nike LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD is set to release this Summer 2024 season for $160; see the first look ahead.
