Available Now: The Nike Air Max Drift Plus Continues to Shine In “Volt”

Among the fresher editions to the Nike catalog, the Air Max Plus Drift stands out as a real highlight. True to that theme, the newly refurbished model is keeping up a strong rookie campaign clad in a nocturnal “Volt” colorway.

Taking cues from the Swoosh’s archives, the Plus Drift straddles the line between retro and futuristic- updating the foundation of the original Nike Air Max Plus line and re-interpreting it with a modern lens. Towards the top of the year, news of its rollout began emerging, and we’ve gotten a steady stream of new looks for the silhouette in the time since. This “Volt” colorway is arguably the first of those that circle back to familiar, mainline Nike palettes- with the neon and black combo featured here having dressed every manner of Nike shoe in the past several years.

Equally, this configuration mirrors headlines surrounding the Air Max line as a whole as its week-long celebration nears closer. The brand-new Air Max Dn, the latest update on Air technology, dawned in two colorways. Though the Dn’s take on “Volt” is far more luminescent, it’s easy to draw a throughline between its utilization there and it cropping up here on the Plus Drift.

As mentioned before, the Air Max Drift has become a familiar model as the Nike calendar for 2024 begins to take shape. Though early returns have been impressive, this surely isn’t the end of new formulations for the Nike Air Max Plus Drift, and we’ll continue showing off each iteration as they’re brought out. For now, there’s no official word on when this “Volt” colorway will make its way to stores, but you can expect a $185 price tag when they do.
