The Air Jordan 9 Begins Its Comeback As A Golf Shoe

The Year of IX begins in golf shoe form.

The Air Jordan 9 Begins Its Comeback As A Golf Shoe

Before the Air Jordan 9 Retro rush begins in march with the Powder Blue Jordan 9s, Jordan Brand has plans of slowly reintroducing the model to market via its golf-ready format. Last seen in stores way back in 2016, the Air Jordan 9 Golf makes a sudden return in the model’s original White/Black/True Red colorway.

However, these are quite different from its near-decade-old predecessor; the version you’ll see in stores today is as true as possible to the standard basketball shoe mold, whereas the 2016 pair opts for the Free-based sole that was seen on other Jordan Retro-inspired golfing kicks of that era. Aside from the green-ready outsoles that utilize spikes for grip, the upper of the Air Jordan 9 stays quite true to Tinker Hatfield’s 1993-1994 design, while the “True Red” color-blocking is enhanced via a glossy mudguard.

With golf season now underway, it is likely that this Air Jordan 9 Golf will be available very soon on Nike.com, so stay tuned for updates on our Jordan Release Dates page and expect an MSRP of $230.

With NBA All-Star Weekend looking, check out the latest on this week’s most important sneaker drop – the Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined”.
