“Licorice” Holds Down Another Wild New Balance 1906R

True to form, this edition of the shoe is split between a smattering of different shades.

“Licorice” Holds Down Another Wild New Balance 1906R

The New Balance 1906R has already had a ton of impact on 2024, with a Salehe Bembry drop towards the top of the year, and an Action Bronson one still on the way. As we continnue through a runner-heavy wave, that central shoe for New Balance is getting another brand new in-house look with a “Licorice” purple pair hitting shelves soon.

Though those aforementioned collaborators cetainly pushed the envelope in terms of out-there shades hitting the 1906R, New Balance has proved a willingness to get just as experimental with the colorways they dream up. Here, three seperate vibrant shades hit the shoe, with a burgundy wine taking to the tongue and side panels, a radiant yellow highlighted on the sole, and a blackcurrant purple lining the forefoot.

Where the shoe stays in orthodox territory is in the rest of the shoe, going with an aged off white for both the mesh foundation and vintage midsole. Finally, the titular “Licorice” grey serves on the front mudguard and lines the sneaker, creating a conservative base for the rest of the colors to work off.

The New Balance 1906R “Licorice” has not been confirmed for any specific date, but select retailers have already recieved stock. Anticipate these hitting NB.com and their app very soon, arriving at a $150 price point.

In more 1906R news, the New Balance 1906R “Polka Dot” Pack was recently teased by its designer, hinting towards a release in the near-future.
