The “Pale Yellow” Nike Cortez Leans Into Vintage Aesthetics

Midsole coloring produces a naturally aged look.

The “Pale Yellow” Nike Cortez Leans Into Vintage Aesthetics

The Nike Cortez has been a street staple for the better part of the past fifty years. An icon in Southern California that has since ascended to worldwide notoriety, the Cortez offers a retro aesthetic for a reasonable price point, two factors behind the model’s current trending status.

Perhaps the most favored Nike Cortez design is its “Triple White” look, a familiar treatment across Nike lifestyle offerings that puts the model’s 1972-born build on full display, uninterrupted by color. While the all white Cortez restocked in OG fashion last year, Nike now adds another monotone pair to the mix featuring slight material and color tweaks.

A “Pale Yellow” midsole sets this women’s delivery apart, producing a naturally aged look in alignment with the shoe’s overarching aesthetic. White nylon takes over for the leather traditionally found on the all-white Cortez, bordered by grey suede paneling on the toe and heel in a spring-ready mix. More yellow hits then appear on the shoe’s tongue and rear “Nike” logo to complete the delivery.
