There’s no doubt that a retro kick on the streetwear side of things has increased demand for some of adidas’ classic football staples. Outside of public demand, though, the German giant is working hard to turn up the heat for the adidas Gazelle, be it in the Bad Bunny adidas Gazelle news that broke last month, or the Kith adidas Originals slate that dropped around the same time. Attempting to keep the momentum up, three new pairs of the adidas Gazelle have surfaced as a part of adidas’ SS24 plans.
Structurally, we’re noting with interest the translucent gum sole. On both of those aforementioned collaborative efforts, a similar midsole was also present, perhaps hinting that this is the preferred in-house look for the 90s archive shoe.
While the actual shades may differ, the colorblocking is more or less constant among all three pairs in this “pack.” One dominant shade dresses the suede, an adjacent version of it hits the textured tongue, and a contrast tone drapes the branding, from the Three Stripes to the heel cup to the tongue tag.
Of the three, the pair in “Cream/White” stick out as the most traditional, making them the easiest to fit into any wardrobe. The pair in “Easy Orange” no doubt conveys the summer spirit the best, and the “Semi Court Green” represents a middle ground, just as reigned-in as it is a statement piece.
No concrete release date has been set for these three pairs of the adidas Gazelle. Instead, expect these making their way to retailers and adidas.com as we get closer to the true start of spring. Expect a $120 MSRP for all three of the sneakers.
