The Nike Air Max 90 LV8 “Since 72” Embraces Sail And Pale Vanilla

A contemporary look for the hybrid Air Max shoe.

The Nike Air Max 90 LV8 “Since 72” Embraces Sail And Pale Vanilla

The Nike Air Max 90 LV8 didn’t get a whole lot of shine during Air Max Month in March, but new colorways appear set to arrive for the latter half of the Spring 2024 season. The Beaverton brand’s newest air-equipped hybrid model dresses in “Since 72” makeup for its next delivery, presenting a contemporary look with callbacks to Nike’s earliest days.

Despite this colorway’s “Since 1972” namesake, there’s very little “retro” about it as that title might suggest. Aside from vintage branding on the insole and tongue, treatments that get matched by red air units, the design presents as fairly modern. The oversized, double-bubble sole of the LV8 cut serves that narrative underfoot, adorned with a “Pale Vanilla” midsole wedge and gum tread. Otherwise, vanilla, sail, and brown leather elements maintain a balanced look on the upper, set against a canvas base to complete the design.

No release date has been set at the time of this writing, but all those looking to add a contemporary touch to their rotations should expect these to hit shelves within the next few months.
